Introducing Gerard Ramon

 

RAMON is a French sculptor born in Paris in 1935.


He uses materials such as hammered and assembled copper (single pieces), bronze (limited production), terracotta (single pieces) or, recently, welded steel


From 1978 to 1995 he taught sculpture at Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliquées « Duperré » (Fine Arts and Design School), Paris.

1954 – 1961 : Studies at Ecole des Beaux Arts de Paris (Paris Fine Arts School), Hubert YENCESSE’s and Marcel GIMOND’s studios.

1964 – 1976 : Realization of several monumental sculptures for new-built towns in the urban area of Paris (Maurepas, Villepreux, Elancourt, Rambouillet) within the program « Créations urbaines Jacques Riboud ».

1976 – 1979 : Artistic Director of ARCITE, a company for promoting plastic art in the urban environment.

1976 : Retrospective « Dix ans de sculpture » (ten years work) at George V Hotel, Paris.


1978 : Personal exhibitions of monumental sculptures in the five biggest towns in the South-West of France (BIARRITZ, BORDEAUX, LA ROCHELLE, ANGOULEME, PERIGUEUX).


Since 1979 : Realization of monumental sculptures for private collectors and several french towns :


Paris (La Défense), Port de Paris (Limay), Ibiza (Spain), Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Périgeux, Saint-Tropez, Mulhouse, Creil, La Flèche, Melun, La Valette-du-Var, Ollonnes-sur-Mer, Les Clays-sous-Bois, Bonnières-sur-Seine, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Carrières-sous-Poissy.
